Fun Fun Fun!
I hope everyone had a great day yesterday. I took a day off work so that I
could take my son on a day trip before he started school (today). We went to Caesar Creek, where he and the dog swam together, we hiked, and we fished. I got a little too much sun too.
I noticed something about this trip and Saturday's that was different... I was able to walk farther and do more before getting all sweaty and winded. The scale may not be moving as quickly as I'd like, but I'm definitely getting stronger. In fact, last night I did a yoga pose I've not been able to do before, and I'm getting "stretchier" when moving into other poses.
Note: If you've not tried yoga, please give it a try. Seriously. It's a great way to relax, calm your mind, and just take some time for yourself and your body.
If you've been keeping up on your 12-Week Shape-Up! goals, hopefully you're noticing changes in your strength and fitness, too! If you've not been keeping up, it's never too late to start! Case in point: Harriette Thompson. 91, recovering from cancer, and ran a marathon in San Diego, beating the record time for women over 90 (there's a category for that!!) by nearly three hours. Oh, and she STARTED running this marathon at the age of 76! There's some motivation for you!
So get busy, get active, and take some time for yourself and your health this week (and every week).
