In the Beginning

This isn't my first blog. It's not my second. It's not my tenth. And it surely won't be my last. However, it is the first blog I've created to chronicle my weight loss journey. Well, the first one I plan on keeping up with. I have the motivation this time. I have a desire to succeed. I have what I need to make this happen. One thing I've never had was the patience - and that's where this blog comes in.This blog - cryptically named The Transformation of Olympus (which will be explained throughout future posts) - is my first foray into publicly sharing things that horrify me in the hopes to find others who are going through, have went through, or are about to go through this process. Others who want to share their stories. Others who want to help keep me accountable.

What kinds of things will you find in this blog in the coming days/months/years?

  • Blunt honesty about how I came to be 322 pounds.
  • An open book regarding my eating habits.
  • TMI in the form of test results, negative outcomes, or anything else that happens during my weight loss journey, even the negative things which others sometimes politely skip in their blogs.
  • My daily challenges and successes.
  • Tools that have helped me and that may be able to help you.
  • Recipes and exercises that I try ...
  • ... and why I do or do not stick with them.
  • Whiny posts.
  • Triumphant posts.
  • Pictures.
  • Maybe even vlog entries.
  • Posts about my favorite things.
I'll try to bring the humor - after all, what fun is life if you can't have a laugh? I'll try to bring the positivity. All I want from you to let me know in the comments when something touches you, or makes you grin, or helps to motivate you. It's that kind of feedback that is the fuel that keeps my blogging motor running.

And if you're a troll, I just want to make things perfectly clear: This is my house. You have a right to free speech, and I have a right to delete and ban you for it. So comment with respect - even if you disagree - or don't comment at all.

Thanks for joining me, no matter the reason you're here. I hope you enjoy my posts. I hope you comment. I hope you stick with me on this new chapter in my life. And I hope I can in some way help you in your journey, too.
